Oatlands Historic Home and Gardens

Oatlands sits on 400 acres of beautiful land protected by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In 1798 a young bachelor named George Carter inherited 3,408 acres of prime Loudoun County, Virginia farmland. Carter was a descendant of one of Virginia’s first families. Oatlands based its plantation economy on wheat production, and eventually Carter branched out to grow other small grains; raise sheep for their wool; and build a mill complex on nearby Goose Creek.
Oatlands is one of our favorite hidden gems, our favorite location on property is their four acre English Garden. With several different backdrops on property, this is a magical place to ask your special someone to send for ever with you!

Making the street walkable, and a perfect location to pop down on one knee.

Lightfoot Restaurant
Looking for a fancy dinner with white table cloths? Look no further. Lightfoot, back in the day, was a community bank. Renovated in 1999, many of the bank's original designs are still standing today. The large vault is still located inside the establishment. Enjoy listening to a pianist while dining at one of the best restaurants in the area.
